It's been just about a year since Mahindra 2 Wheelers launched the Duro and the Rodeo scooters and the big question on everyone's mind was about when the motorcycles were coming. Well, they're here ? and not just one, but two of them! This is Mahindra 2 Wheelers' first foray into the bike segment and judging by first impressions it is a good one. The two products on offer are the Mojo and the Stallio. While Mahindra has gone all out with the Mojo which is a bike targeted at the enthusiast biker, they've played it safe with an 110cc offering in the form of the Stallio.
The Mojo is the more talked-about bike here and it comes loaded with goodies in its cycle parts bin. USD front forks, a never-seen-in-India tubular frame, sporty instrument cluster with analog tacho and digital speedometer, LED pilot lamps and tail lamps, twin exhausts, wide Pirelli Sport Demon tyres, massive front petal disc, rear disc and LED turn indicators integrated in the mirrors are features never seen on Indian machines yet and by bringing them in on the Mojo, Mahindra is making a bold statement indeed. But it's not just about fancy cycle parts ? the Mojo's powerplant is reason to talk about as well. The bike is powered by a 300cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine fed through a Ducati EFI system producing 26PS @ 8500rpm and 24Nm @ 7000rpm from its over-square cylinder dimensions. Exhaust gases are expelled through a one-into-two exhaust system that ends in two chunky cans ? one on either side of the bike. As far as the design goes ? we'll leave that up to you to comment on! Mahindra 2 Wheelers has gone ahead and priced the Mojo very competitively too.
At Rs1,75,000 ex-showroom in Pune and the huge list of features that the bike brings in, it seems like great value indeed. That said, the bike on display at the launch was a hand-built pre-production prototype and the actual production versions should start hitting showrooms in a couple of months.
