European stocks turn negative as banks retreat
PARIS: European stocks erased early gains and turned negative around midday on Friday as retreating banking stocks overshadowed strong gains in the energy sector following Repsol's deal with . At 1105 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares was down 0.2 percent at 1,057.80 points in a roller-coaster session. was down 2.1 percent and Santander down 1.6 percent.
